About this webinar

In this webinar, we will be hearing from cross-border mortgage broker Caroline Jarrett of Audhild Lending Services about the practical realities of securing Australian mortgages when clients live and earn offshore. Caroline will focus solely on Australian lending and credit advice (not financial or tax advice), providing an inside look at how lenders and underwriters actually assess complex cross‑border client files and where global planners can add the most value in preparing clients.

Some of the relevant issues that will be addressed include:

  • What it takes to qualify for an Australian mortgage from abroad, including common practical hurdles (proof of income, FX, time zones, documentation)
  • How underwriters view offshore income, multiple tax residencies, equity compensation, employees vs business owners, and how advisors can help present a stronger application file
  • Financing investment property for expats and foreign nationals, specialist lender markets, common structures, and key considerations around LVRs, interest‑only vs P&I, and appropriate deposit levels
  • Using offsets vs higher deposits, managing FX and interest rate risk in cross‑border mortgage planning, and considerations for refinancing and working with buyer’s advocates for expat purchasers
